Google Talk log-in issue

I recently updated to your latest rom (it's the green/red led, and thank you for the hard work on the rom) and it's improved the useability of the tablet greatly. After working out some kinks with the wifi where i was losing my connection every few minutes (poor signal) I now can't log into google talk. I was able to do this before though I'd lose it often. Now it just sits at the signing in screen forever. the only thing I changed on the tablet is the access
